Children Live What They Learn

ECI Curriculum

Posted on 23 February, 2011 at 14:43
A teacher has to abide by a set guideline in education children.  The guidelines are simply called a curriculum and it is set up mainly by the Ministry of Education in the country. An Early Childhood Institution also has it's teaching structure guided by a set curriculum.  Before, the curriculum focused on getting the children to learn basics knowledge such as their names, basic scenarios in life, basic mathematical and english.  This is what they would need to build on when they venture to primary school.

By the ending of 2009, the curriculum was changed to incorporate elements of learning such as music, spanish, a bit of science and computer study.  I do understand that we would love our children to be rounded, but some of them already find it difficult to grasp the foundation elements that they need much less to venture into unchartered waters.

What are your views relating to the change in the curriculum and the impact that it has on the children?  Do you think it is fair for the children to be crammed with all these additional information, when it is a known fact that at most primary schools they do not start doing these lessons until at least grade?

I like the idea of exposing children to music, spanish and other arts at an early age as it will help them in the future. Children will find it fun when they are young and be interested in learning.

I honestly believe that children do live what they learn..The thing i hate most with some parents is that they expose their child to a certain lifestyle then they want to scold the child for doing the exact thing.

The exposure is good, but not to the extent of looking for learning to take place.

Give the knoledge so they'll understand what it is but keep it simply and go indepth later on.

You will be surprised how smart these children are these days. I think the exposure will do wonders as it's never too early to start teaching them at least the basics.

I think that our government is adopting to the first world educational system and this is definately a plus because our curriculum is very good and with the introduction of Spanish and music this gives our children the additional advantage of expanding their horizons of development.

i do see your point Petrona, but you have to consider that nothing will change over nite. and i say this bcuz having our childrean more rounded will help them be more effective thinkers and less-one track minded. Everyone wants to be a doctor& lawyer, (i would say teacher but that doesnt apply anymore, lol). anyways to my point..... what about musicians? an artist? a business owner? i do believe that the move of implementing addition lessons is an important one, i however believe that results will not be immediate. it may take a few years before we start seeing results where by then it should become second nature

In this fast changing global environment one ought not to be passive about development. The dynamism of tautology and learned discipline in the multifaceted paradigm referred to as school may be further expounded by employing the holistic principle hinged on the new meaning-center of higher learning-. The Hatfield Early Childhood Institution has earned my respect as since it's inception the governance has stayed clear of external political intrusion and imposition and has been on a steady trajectory of growth. The hands of aid garnered by the simplicity of humility emanating from the principal and very quiet yet vocal and vociferous teachers, the unique needs of the community and it's members and also the virtue of a board committed to service have been overwhelmingly giving makes Hatfield School and invariably the community center impossible to fail. All hail to our almighty father (God) for the vision.

The model measure I byword Gail Dines converse, at a colloquy in Boston, she moved the audience to tears with her description of the problems caused next to pornography, and provoked chortling with her spicy observations near pornographers themselves. Activists in the audience were newly inspired, and men at the event – uncountable of whom had not viewed obscenity as a disturbed before – queued up afterwards to guarantee their support. The scene highlighted Dines's unsound charisma and the fact that, since the dying of Andrea Dworkin, she has risen to that most sensitive and exciting of conspicuous roles: the elated's leading anti-pornography campaigner.
